Stephanie Spencer
Chartered Legal Executive
Stephanie joined Bartons in July 2024, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge in terms of Property and General Civil Litigation matters. Stephanie has 11 years of litigation experience, comprised of time in both a large national law firm and a local South Devon firm, giving her experience in a wide range of disputes, as well as knowledge of the local area and its specific challenges.
Stephanie has a particular interest in Property Litigation, including Landlord and Tenant disputes, however has experience in and is happy to be instructed in the following matters:
- Property Litigation, including:
- Boundary Disputes, including Applications for Determined Boundaries;
- Party Wall matters;
- Issues relating to Covenants and/or Easements (both express and prescriptive)
- Adverse Possession;
- Trespass;
- Nuisance and Harassment;
- Negligence and Property Damage.
- Residential* and Commercial Landlord and Tenant Disputes, including:
- Obtaining possession of commercial and residential properties, including service of notices;
- Disputes relating to Holiday Lets.
- Construction disputes;
- Professional negligence;
- TOLATA claims;
- Debt Recovery
- Contractual and Consumer Disputes, including:
- Claims under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Supply of Goods and Services Act 1928 and Sale of Goods Act 1979;
- Misrepresentation;
- Claims in relation to Hire Purchase.

Stephanie also has a considerable amount of experience in dealing with Legal Expenses Insurance matters and is able to assist with obtaining cover, should that be necessary.
