Resolution - first for family law  Resolution specialist

The break-up of your family or partnership can have a major impact on your living arrangements, your children and your finances.

At this difficult time, you need someone who will take time to understand your personal situation and can give you clear and objective advice about the decisions which will affect your future.

Our family law department will work with you and provide you with caring, professional advice and support which will be tailored to your own family situation and enable you to reach the most positive outcome.

Our family department lawyers are members of Resolution which is committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes. They are required to follow a code of conduct that promotes a non-confrontational approach to family problems, and encourages solutions that consider the needs of the whole family, and in particular the best interests of children.

Our family lawyers are trained mediators. Family mediation is a means by which couples who are in dispute can agree to the appointment of an impartial third party to help them reach decisions through negotiation. The issues involved may relate to separation and/or divorce, children, property or other linked financial matters. The process is voluntary and a safe environment is provided for negotiation to take place, which can be less stressful than a court room. The mediation process encourages co-operation and therefore reduces conflict. As the cost is split between both parties it can also often be the most cost effective solution to a break up.
